Trigonometry
Trigonometry : The branch of mathematics dealing with the relations of the sides and angles of triangles and with the relevant functions of any angles .
What Relationships are we talking?
What Relationships are we talking?
- Sine SOH CAH TOA
- Cosine = What does it mean?
- Tangent
- To use SOH CAH TOA the Triangle must be a Right Triangle.
- To find the length of a side you must have the length of one other side and an angle measure other than the right angle.
- To find the measure of an angle you must have the measures of two sides of the triangle.
EXAMPLE: Find X and Y. Round to Nearest tenth
To find X : Which Relationship can we use to find X? Sine
Set up your equation:
Sine(A)=Opposite/Hypotenuse
Sine(30)=X/10
10Sine(30)=X (Enter into a calculator and round) (If you are using any Trig. Functions in the calculator, make sure you are in Degree mode.)
X=5
